Nursing & Care

Linc has an exciting programme of expansion underway. As a result, we plan to increase our Linc nursing and Linc caring staff significantly over the next five years. There are many nursing and caring opportunities at Linc for those who want to help us make a difference to the lives of our Elders in our Linc Community Nursing Homes across South Wales.

We are particularly keen to hear from Newly Qualified and Qualified Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Support Workers and other Healthcare professionals who share Linc’s commitment to delivering person-centred care. Linc Care staff are always willing to go the extra mile and they have embarked on a challenging yet exciting journey to make all our services enjoyable and vibrant places to live for our Elders.

As part of this commitment, Linc Care have engaged with a not for profit organisation called Eden Alternative. The Eden approach combats the three common plagues of the elderly - loneliness, helplessness and boredom by creating a human habitat where life revolves around close and continuing contact with plants, animals and children. This puts the decision-making authority into the hands of the elders or those closest to them. The Eden Alternative inspires a strong community that encourages companionship, wellbeing, dignity and choice.

Linc Care deploy a number of Eden Alternative principles in our Linc Community Nursing Homes including:

• Our residents are always referred to as Elders
• We have pets including rabbits, birds, cats and dogs living in some of our Linc Community Nursing Homes
• Plants and flowers are placed in our Linc Community Nursing Homes and our Elders have the opportunity to be involved in caring for them
• Elders and their guests can have refreshments at any time as they have tea and coffee making facilities
• Regular activities and events are arranged to combat the feeling of boredom.
